About JackCoHenry
Q. Who is JackCoHenry?
JackCoHenry is a Singapore-based leather atelier that creates bespoke leather watch straps and made-to-order leather goods. Every piece is guided by material selection, colour pairing, proportion, stitching, and how the finished item fits your watch and lifestyle. JackCoHenry is an independent business and is not affiliated with any watch brand.
Q. What does JackCoHenry make?
JackCoHenry makes bespoke leather watch straps and fine leather goods. Watch strap work includes material selection, thread and lining choice, length adjustment, and design guidance matched to your specific watch. Other made-to-order leather pieces are also available depending on material availability and project suitability.
Q. Does JackCoHenry make other leather goods beyond watch straps?
Watch straps are central to JackCoHenry's work, but the atelier also accepts commissions for other bespoke leather goods and custom leather projects. Availability depends on material, complexity, and suitability. Contact us to discuss your project.
Q. Is JackCoHenry affiliated with Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, or other watch brands?
No. JackCoHenry is an independent leather atelier with no affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship from any watch brand. Watch brand and model names are referenced only to describe compatibility or a customer's specific watch.
Custom Watch Straps
Q. Can you make a custom leather watch strap for my watch?
In most cases, yes. JackCoHenry makes bespoke leather watch straps for a wide range of watches. To get a recommendation, share your watch brand, model, lug width, and a clear photo of your watch. We'll advise on strap style, material, and fit from there.
Q. What information do I need to provide for a custom watch strap order?
To make your custom leather watch strap, we need:
-
Watch brand and model
-
Lug width (in millimetres)
-
Buckle width, if you are reusing your existing buckle
-
Preferred strap length and your wrist size
-
Front leather choice
-
Backing or lining choice
-
Thread colour
-
Any reference photos or design preferences
If you're unsure about any of these, send a photo of your watch and we'll guide you through the rest.
Q. Can JackCoHenry help me choose the right leather for my watch?
Yes. We advise on leather type, texture, and colour based on your watch case, dial colour, and lifestyle. For example, a yellow gold or champagne case tends to pair well with warm brown, taupe, or deep burgundy leathers, while a stainless steel sports watch may suit darker tones, textured leather, or contrast stitching. Singapore's warm, humid climate is also factored into our recommendations for daily wearability.
Q. What is the best leather for a watch strap in Singapore's humid climate?
For Singapore's heat and humidity, we recommend leathers and linings that handle perspiration well and can be rotated rather than worn daily. We advise against wearing the same leather strap for high-perspiration activities and suggest airing straps out after each wear. During your order consultation, we'll recommend specific materials suited to your intended use.
Q. Can you recommend thread colours?
Yes. Thread colour can blend into the leather for a quiet, refined look, or contrast for stronger visual emphasis. We confirm thread recommendations after the watch, leather, and intended style are finalised.
Q. Can I choose the lining for my watch strap?
Yes. Lining affects comfort, moisture resistance, and how the strap feels against the wrist. For Singapore's climate, we may recommend linings that are more durable for daily wear and perspiration.
Q. Do you offer exotic leather watch straps?
Exotic leather options may be available depending on current stock and regulatory requirements. Some materials have import restrictions that vary by country. Contact us to ask about current availability for your specific project.
Q. Can you copy an existing strap design?
We can use an existing strap as a sizing or proportion reference. We do not copy another brand's proprietary design, logo, protected construction, or trademarked elements.
Sizing
Q. How do I measure lug width for a watch strap?
Lug width is the gap between the lugs — the small horns on your watch case where the strap attaches. To measure it:
-
Remove your current strap.
-
Using a digital calliper or ruler, measure straight across the gap in millimetres.
-
Common lug widths are 18 mm, 19 mm, 20 mm, 22 mm, and 24 mm.
If you're unsure, take a clear photo of the watch head from above and send it to us — we can often identify the lug width from the photo. See our full Sizing Guide.
Q. What strap length do I need?
The standard watch strap length is 115 mm (short end) / 75 mm (long end). If you have a larger or smaller wrist, or prefer a different fit, custom lengths are available — just mention your wrist circumference when ordering. Our Sizing Guide has a full walkthrough.
Materials & Leather Care
Where does JackCoHenry source its leather? JackCoHenry sources leather from Lintelier in Singapore. Visit our Material Hub for a full breakdown of the leathers, finishes, and colours currently available.
How do I care for a leather watch strap? To care for a leather watch strap:
-
Avoid prolonged moisture — don't submerge or soak the strap.
-
Keep out of direct sunlight — UV exposure dries and fades leather over time.
-
Air it out — after wear, especially in Singapore's heat, let the strap dry naturally before storing.
-
Rotate your straps — avoid wearing the same leather strap daily for sweat-heavy activities.
-
Condition periodically — apply a quality leather conditioner every few months to maintain suppleness.
Pull-up and vegetable-tanned leathers will develop a natural patina with wear — this is part of their character, not a defect.
Will my leather strap change colour over time? Yes. Natural leather darkens, softens, and develops a patina with regular use — particularly pull-up and vegetable-tanned leathers. This is a natural characteristic of genuine leather, not a defect.
